1.Can i get a backstory on the band/ band biography?
-Quoting the biography on our website: ”The aggressive, insane and unorthodox metal attack known as The Undivine comes from Finland and hits you in the face with a sonic machete! Band originates from Lohja, where it was found in 2005 and it mixes various styles, elements and attitude of teeth-grinding extreme metal and fat'n'loud hardcore punk mixed with various other styles. It's hard to explain what it is exactly because the band consistently melts different ideas together. You have to hear it! After series of line-up changes the band found it's current line-up during spring 2011 and is currently waiting anxiously to start gigging in order to support the new album "Delusional Noise". Before the debut "Face the Chaos", the band released several EP's that claimed them their ever rising fame in the Finnish scene. The band has also been active and done gigs the whole time, and is known from its passionate and furious live performance. The Undivine will always put its main focus on gigging, but we also have a lot of new songs coming up all the time. Keep your eyes and ears open! We're coming to get you too!”

2. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?
-What our lyrics are all about have been varying quite a bit during the years. Songs from Man-Made Apocalypse EP (2009)to Face The Chaos (2011) were pretty much about the problems in the surrounding world, but on Delusional Noise (2012) we took a completely different approach, and focused on what's happening on the inside of one's mind. Although the rough themes, we've refrained ourselves from giving
answers or telling people what to do and how to live, because that's not our thing to do. However, we're trying to encourage people to independent thinking, and finding answers that way.
----------------------
3. How have the gigs you guys been doing been?
-We have always tried to convey the energy and the drive of our music and performance to the audience and seems like we've been doing a good job. Of course, in a country the size of Finland, you can't actually be picky about the audiences, on some shows there have been 2 people and on some there have been 200 people, but still we're giving a full 100%.
----------------------
4. What equipment do you guys use?
Henri (voc): Shure SM58
Iiro (gtr): B.C. Rich guitars, Peavey amps and Boss effects.
Juha (gtr): Jackson guitars, Framus amps and effects by TC Electronic, Maxon & Boss to name a few.
Ville (bass): Fender basses and Warwick amps.
Raikku (drs): Pearl drums, Impression cymbals and Balbex drumsticks.
----------------------
5. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?
-Pantera, Sepultura, Nasum, Rotten Sound, Mastodon, Gojira... I guess pretty much everything we've been listening.
----------------------
6. Do you remember your first show and what was it like?
-We played our first at a indie-festival called Tuntuma at Lohja, Finland in the summer of 2008. There were about ten to fifteen people in the audience and we had problems with the backline and PA throughout the show, but still we managed to turn it to a victory.
----------------------
7.What made you guys decide to form a band?
-We met with Iiro while I was producing an EP for his former band, and during the session we noticed that there were a lot of similar thoughts how a band should be. So, we decided to make these thoughts into reality, and here we are.
----------------------
8.What is your opinion on sites posting your guys material and other bands material?
-As they say, any publicity is good publicity. Since we've all been trading cassettes in the 90's, we don't see that much of a difference. If someone's whining how the torrent sharing affects their monthly income are being just greedy. Plain and simple.
----------------------
9.Is there any bands that you guys enjoyed playing with more then the others?
-Of course it's much more enjoyable to play live with bands and musicians you know, so that way you'll get a chance to meet some friends and hang out with them.
----------------------
10. How do you guys feel about the classifications in metal? like deathcore, metalcore and other subgenres and how some get a negative rep.
-Generally i see classifications as a good thing when the they're are used to describe bands and music, but when people, who are forming a band, are defining the band's genre before they've even had the first rehearsals, puts classifying over the top. What's over-classifying has done, is that the bands of today have allready pre-defined genres to fall into, and because the definitions are so strict, the bands are sounding
more or less like each other. And even if there are more metal bands than ever, the scene is still lacking truly original bands compared for instance to the 90's. About the negative reputation of some genres..Of course anyone is free to do whatever they like, but still bringing elements to the metal scene which have never been a part of it until now, can you blame any other than yourself for getting a bad rep? I mean, if you take one of these emo-metal bands (no offense) and compare it with, let's say, Deicide...well, i guess you'll get the point.
----------------------
11. What song do you enjoy playing the most?
-Landmine Marathon off the new album seems to be a mutual favorite.
----------------------
12. When not doing things with the band, what can you guys be seen doing?
-Just pretty basic things, going to work, hanging out with our families and so on.
----------------------
13.Your biggest band moment?
-I guess, for this line-up, the biggest moment has been the release of Delusional Noise, since everyone has put so much effort to it and hearing the results have been rewarding beyond belief.
----------------------
14. What is your opinion on the current state of metal?
-I see, that the great names of the metal genre have already been founded and most of them even passed away. There are still some good new bands carrying the torch, so despite the vastness of metal as a genre, i think that cream always rises and there will be always at least a few good bands per subgenre.
----------------------
15. How did you guys come up with your band name?
-We just came up with the name, and it sounded cool and sort of describing. So, no big epiphanies or shit like that here.
----------------------
16. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?
-First of all, a lot of shows, maybe some of them abroad too. Second, we're planning a music video at the moment, and it might see the light of day next summer. Third, even though we've just released our second album, we are allready planning for the third, so we'll start writing it later this year.
